Mexico City, January 29, 2026.
We reiterate today what we have always said: Grupo Salinas and its founding chairman, Ricardo Benjamín Salinas Pliego, comply— and have always complied—with the payment of taxes. Over the past 20 years, our companies have paid more than 300 billion pesos in tax obligations. No one can deny that we comply with Mexico.
Now, despite being in strong disagreement, we will pay even more. Not out of conviction, nor because we accept that it is fair, but because we seek to turn the page and put an end to this systematic campaign against us.
Fundamentally, we do this because for both our companies and our founding chairman, it is essential to reclaim time, energy, and focus in order to dedicate ourselves to what we do best: continuing to create prosperity and value for Mexico, serving our millions of customers, and safeguarding the well-being of more than 200,000 families who depend on Grupo Salinas.
With this payment—which goes beyond the limits of the agreements originally reached in 2024—we will have fully covered everything that the Tax Authority demanded throughout this long litigation. As of now, we owe the government nothing, under any concept.
At Grupo Salinas, we are convinced that for things to change in our country, the first step must be to change the way we think and to call for a true cultural revolution—one in which there is zero tolerance for crime or corruption, and in which Life, Property, and Individual Liberty are respected; rights that belong to us as free, not subdued, individuals who aspire to the very best for Mexico and for our families.
To all Mexicans, let this be clear: you can be certain that Ricardo Benjamín Salinas Pliego and Grupo Salinas will always be allies of Mexico. We will never stop speaking the truth, as we seek to restore for our nation—and for every Mexican— the prosperity that will once again position us as a world-class example.
