Digital Users Will Be Able to Carry Out Multiple Operations

Banco Azteca Adds WhatsApp as a Means of Service

Banco Azteca announced that it has joined WhatsApp, the leading global instant messaging app, as a new way of providing service to its digital clients.

The bank will be offering accompaniment services to its customers through WhatsApp for managing their accounts and carrying out operations like money transfers, consulting account balances, purchasing air time, and opening accounts, among others.

This new way of operating will be in addition to Banco Azteca’s mobile app, which already has more than 5 million users and hopes to close 2019 with 7 million customers. Just like digital banking services, the services on WhatsApp will be available seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

Banco Azteca and Azteca Servicios Financieros CEO Alejandro Valenzuela said, “This effort will allow us to move ahead toward our objectives of fostering financial education and inclusion in Mexico at the same time that it puts us on the cutting edge of digital banking.

In late June, Mexico’s banking system launched a pilot program that will gradually incorporate the new functions.
