Banco Azteca and BanBajío Combine ATM Networks

In order to broaden out their national coverage, Banco Azteca and BanBajío signed a cooperation agreement so their customers can make cash withdrawals in pesos and unlimited consults without no charge in a shared network of 1,634 ATMs.

With this alliance, Banco Azteca’s 15 million clients will have access not only to their own 1,000 ATMs, but also to the 634 ATMs operated by BanBajío in 28 states around the country.

BanBajío’s 800,000 account holders will also have more points of contact available to them for withdrawals and consulting their bank balances.

Banco Azteca and Azteca Servicios Financieros CEO Alejandro Valenzuela underlined the institution’s determination to create a larger and larger network of ATMs to benefit all its clients.

“This alliance reiterates our commitment to be closer and closer to our customers every day. For Banco Azteca, it’s a great achievement to find partners with whom we can build bridges and broaden our service network. As part of this mission, which is to increase financial inclusion of people in the banking system, we all need greater efforts of as many allies as possible; that’s why we thank BanBajío for moving ahead with us on this.”

The agreement with BanBajío is one more in a series of similar agreements that Banco Azteca has signed with other financial institutions. They have allowed the bank to offer its clients a network of more than 2,300 ATMs, where they can make an unlimited number of cash withdrawals in pesos and consultbank account and credit card balances free of charge.
